I HATE THESE THINGS !
Okay so just a few days ago, I attended the press conference in Lumban, Laguna together with other staff members of the Variations. I never really thought of it as a big deal since we had so many things to worry about back in Makiling. Since our photojournalists couldn't come to the event, Janine and I joined that event since we could learn how to use a manual SLR (they didn't allow digital cameras for the competition). Janine's been using an SLR for over a year already so it was actually me who needed A LOT of work to learn how to use it in time for the press con.
Well thanks to books and the manual I did learn how to work it in time for the press con! Fast forward to the awarding. Janine placed 1st in photojournalism in Filipino while I placed 3rd in English. Not bad for a first timer, eh? We could've gone home happy with our victory! (Var bagged almost all 1st place awards too) But what kept us from totally celebrating was the fact that we had to move on to the regional competition. It was scheduled on December 1-5 together with our batch outreach to Camarines Sur wherein we will be conducting workshops.
I find myself caught between my two loves:
spending time with my batchmates, whom I will be away from soon when we graduate and spreading theater to others.
and
photography, the opportunity of putting what I've learned to the test against other photojournalists.
WHAT TO DO? OH THE AGONY @-)

Hahaha. Mahirap talaga, tsk. One time may ganyang problema din si Kuya Janno e, pero ang kanya - presscon o thesis? Ang ginawa niya, pumunta siya sa presscon para lang sa event niya at sumibat agad para gumawa ng thesis. Pero bakit ko nga ba sinasabi 'to, e Batangas at CamSur ang pinag-uusapan 'no? Tsk. Sori naman. :|

Gosh! Congrats Je at Nin! Congrats sa Var staff! So proud of you guys! Hala ang hirap nga ng dilemma niyo..maybe making a list of pros and cons will help. I know this won't help pero ibang klase yung experience ng outreach. Bonding talaga with the batch and with the kids and with the host families. But then again, last few chances niyo na to represent your school and bag the prize sayang naman yung naabot niyo na, go for the gold! marami pa namang chances for bonding later on...but I'm sure you'll figure it out on your own. good luck! :)
